About Me

I’m so excited I just have to tell everyone what’s happening at my church in Williamsburg, VA. We are experiencing an outpouring of the Holy Spirit like never before. We originally had three nights of meetings scheduled and have had such a move of God happening that we have extended the meetings for three more nights (through Sunday night) and it looks like we’ll be extending again! UPDATE: We extended again and this time it’s through Wednesday Nov. 19.
There is always lots of thought and conversation surrounding the topic of worship. (Especially in my life since I’m a worship leader!) Usually these "worship" conversations are actually about the style of music rather than about what it means to worship God in spirit and truth. Many a church war has been waged over the style of worship.
I recently heard a worship leader tell an audience full of other worship leaders that our job is to make people jealous of the relationship we have with Jesus. While I think I understand what she may have been trying to say, I absolutely disagree with her statement. It is not my job to make people jealous of what I have, it’s my job to show others Jesus and what they can have too.
I just got back from the National Worship Leader Conference, which was AMAZING. It’s always good to take time to get fed (although it was more like drinking water from a fire hose there than slowly dining!). Still, Pastor Dave from Riverbend likened the conference to getting manna from God. Thank you Lord!
I’m also constantly amazed at how universal some of the challenges of leading worship are. It doesn’t seem to matter what size church you’re in, when you’re dealing with people, similar issues always arise!
