About Me
Singing at the top of her lungs and making up songs since she was old enough to sing, Sheri Carr is a pastor’s daughter who grew up in the church and has been leading worship for more than a decade. With numerous songs published by Vineyard Music, Sheri Carr has been featured on some of Vineyard Music’s most popular worship recordings - including Dwell, More Than Ever, and Stand In Awe.
For her debut solo release, FEARLESS NOW (Varietal Records), veteran producer Nathan Nockels (Chris Tomlin, Passion, Matt Redman) and a group of talented musicians from Nashville came together to feature this Atlanta-based long-time worship leader praising the Lord in all His glory. The title track’s theme is felt throughout the album as Carr’s soaring powerhouse vocals reflect on the hills and valleys she has trekked alongside her Heavenly Father.
Though some listeners may know her by her maiden name, Keller, Sheri’s voice is unmistakable. Whether she’s whispering soft ballads like "You Are So Beautiful" or belting out high energy anthems like "Sing Your Praise," Sheri’s voice has a presence that beckons listeners right into the heart and emotion of the song. So often referred to as "that girl on the Vineyard record", listeners will finally be able to put a face and a name to that voice.

My Songs
This is a song written in the privacy of my bedroom one lonely Saturday afternoon many years ago. I wasn’t pouring over any scripture or having any deep thoughts. I just poured out my heart and said to the Lord what I needed to say in that moment. I remember I wrote it quickly and easily – maybe because I didn’t really imagine anyone else in the world hearing it!
The inspiration for the song came specifically from
Psalm 56: 1-4, 8, 10-11 (The Message)

Take my side, God—I’m getting kicked around, stomped on every day. Not a day goes by but somebody beats me up; They make it their duty to beat me up. When I get really afraid I come to you in trust. I’m proud to praise God; fearless now, I trust in God. What can mere mortals do?

Have you ever just felt "out of sorts" - perhaps angry, upset, bothered, depressed, discouraged - just not yourself? I’ve had one of those days today. When you have a day like that, doesn’t it seem the silliest and pettiest things can just throw you right off the edge?
For me, the last straw today was a dentist bill. Not just any dentist bill. But one that they keep sending to me over and over - even though I keep telling them I’ve already paid it. Weeks ago I even faxed over the receipt as proof. So yes, a silly and stupid thing to upset

To all you worship-music lovers out there…I wanted to share with you something that I have been enjoying so much these past few months: There is a new resource Vineyard Music has made available to everyone, for FREE! It’s called Inside Worship Podcast.
The podcasts usually include an interview with a worship leader and song writer (previously featured folks include Chris Lizotte & Diane Thiel). Then they let you preview one of their new songs! Not only that, but they provide download-able chord charts so you can start
So I have returned home after a trip to Fort Collins, CO - for Activate Leadership Conference, which was a really great time - but I had another one of those "fortune cookie" moments on my trip I wanted to tell you all about…but this time it was with a ring. :)
I had an afternoon free, during which I enjoyed the beautiful Colorado weather and ate lunch outside on Beau Jo’s patio downtown (I love their pizza, especially their amazing crust, which you have to save for last and eat with honey!). Then I wandered through the shops
Hello from the air – somewhere in the middle of the U.S. - as I write.
On my flight to Grand Junction today, I had a layover in Denver and stopped off for some Panda Express for lunch. Panda Express isn’t exactly gourmet, but next to McDonalds or Sbarro, it definitely wins in my book. I had myself a little Orange Chicken & Broccoli Beef over some Chow Mein. Yum. And then I opened my fortune cookie to see what silly thing it had to say. I was actually surprised that what was inside made me think a bit. It read:
I recently read Kevin K’s blog - and he truly brings up a great question for us all.
"What songs minister to a hurting church???"
I myself have been through some pretty tough church situations (the 3/4 staff resignations rang a bell!). I think it is truly one of the most painful things to walk through, when the church is supposed to be the place we find encouagement and hope, right? I’m sure many of us have unfortunately walked through some tough seasons as we attempt to serve our churches in worship.
In a world of predominately male musicians and worship leaders, women can sometimes feel like the odd duck out. Remember that childhood story about "The Ugly Duckling"? Then there’s that song from Sesame Street that rings through my head: "One of these things is not like the other…" Ever been there? Maybe it’s not that you’re a woman. Maybe it’s that you feel younger than everyone else or older than everyone else. Maybe you don’t think you’re as skilled of a musician as those you play with. Whatever
It was such a privilege to come spend some time with you the other night in Franklin at the Cre:ate Conference! What a blessing to share an evening of worship with so many of you that serve faithfully in churches around the country. May the Lord bless all that you put your hearts and hands to in the coming year!
I know that my face and music are likely new to most of you. So I thought I’d take a little time to let you know what’s up in my world these days.
