Brenton Brown and I tried to imagine the anticipation of when Jesus came riding into town and people were straining to see Him through the crowds. That sense of “here He comes, I think I see Him!” Then we tried to impose that idea on a Sunday morning worship set. That first song when people are stirring and there is an expectation that the presence of God will be experienced as believers begin lifting their hearts in worship. “Praise is rising, eyes are turning to you. Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for you.” The word Hosanna literally means,“Lord save us”. We wanted the chorus to give insight into the meaning of the word as congregations sang,“Hosanna! Hosanna! You are the God who saves us, worthy of all our praises.”
