It’s as old as Adam and Eve.  When people sin, they tend to hide and turn away from the God and the people who can bring healing and restoration.  They begin to pull away from the places where they hear truth about who they are.  There is a real temptation to break connection, not only with God, but with his body.  This song is a declaration that no matter who we are or what is happening in our lives there is a place of refuge among God’s people.  The body of Christ, like its head offers grace, mercy and restoration to those who are hurt by their own sin and the sins of others.

On a very personal level, I wrote this song for some good friends.  I wanted them to know that even though the pain and shame in their lives was great, they didn’t have to turn away from God and his church.  They could seek comfort right here at home among the people who love them most.
