I often find myself writing worship songs from an emotional perspective. Frequently in the writing process, I’ll reflect on my most awe inspiring moments of corporate worship and try to write something that may somehow draw others to that same place. That was the case with this song… I remember sitting downstairs one Fall evening with my guitar. An idea had been tugging at me for a few days and I decided to try to hammer it out. To this day, I have no clue what that idea was-something all together different began to surface. As I penned the lyric, the idea of asking our Lord to dance and sing along with us in the throne room captivated me. I believe that the act of corporate worship is something we initiate, but I also believe that God changes us through it… to me, it’s truly a two-way conversation with the ‘Lord of all that lives and breathes.’
A Thousand Hallelujahs
CCLI Song #4435721
[VERSE]
Lord of all that lives and breathes
Creator of all glorious things
You never cease to manifest Your Grace
Friend of ev’ry sinful man and
Savior to this fallen land
You promise us Your Presence in this place
[PRE-CHORUS]
So I stand and implore You
Lord adorn me with Your Grace
And I lift my voice and I say
[CHORUS]
Dance with me sing with me O Lord
And I will sing a thousand hallelujahs
Hallelujah hallelujah
Laugh with me cry with me O Lord
And I will sing a thousand hallelujahs
Hallelujah hallelujah
[BRIDGE]
Sing with me dance with me
Laugh with me cry with me Lord
Be with me walk with me
Run with me fly with me Lord
Rescue me comfort me
Shelter me ‘cause You died for me
So call on me count on me
And lead me Lord and I will live for You
