I am a songwriter, but for now I only wrote music for children. And that was a long time ago… or should I say a season ago…

The desire God has put in my heart is to write worship songs for our church (there is a need…). I am also part of the worship team as a vocalist. I am from Quebec Province, in Canada. I am married for 15 years now and I have 2 children: a 14 years old son and a 10 1/2 years old daughter. After homeschooling my children for 8 years, I am being homeschooled myself (I am doing my studies from home!!)

I am working hard to get my diploma as a draughtsman (or should I say a draughtswoman!). As a christian family, we decided to send our children to a private school as the public school here did not offer a good supervision. So going to work part time for me became a financial need: First, I needed to go back to school! It is funny because my dad has been a draughtsman his whole life, so has my brother (for 25 years now) who now is the owner of the home company. I never thought that I would myself work in that field!! They specialize in Structural steel which I am learning right now in my 3rd session out or 4. The Lord has answered one of our prayer in giving me work last summer in my field of studies. I worked for my brother! He lives just across the street and that gives me the opportunity to come back home for lunch and organize my time for the children. And slowly but surely, my brother is training me, while I am still studying (as I do that in virtual classes from home), because when I will get my diploma, I will be working for my brother! I really want to give God praises for everything He has done to make that possible for us.

Last June, I went to the East Coast Worship Summit,PA, and my heart was just overwelmed with what I received over there. My head is still filled with ideas and projects. In most of our churches here in Quebec, our ressources are limited and we do not have paid worhip leaders working full time. Where music is concerned, every one is a volunteer, so it might take baby steps before we can implement all these ideas, and it’s OK! (And by the way, after listening to some of our translated sessions and workshops, because he cannot undersand English, our music pastor has started to make some changes in our music teams. He his now trying to make regular teams, and keep the same teams so that we can get to know everyone on our team and get used to be playing and singing together. This is awsome because before, we were always with someone different : the singers, the musiciens and the worship leader!) Again, I want to give God all the glory!

What a blessing it has been (at the East Coast Worship Summit) to be able to meet all these brothers and sisters in Christ sharing the same desire, which is to whorship God with all of our hearts. It was so amazing to meet and to talk to all those songwriters, and being able to ask them, personnally, permission to translate some of their songs in French. I want to thank all of them!
