God has called us to dream and believe in Him- the God who is greater than the impossible. He has called us to a life of faith and trust in Him.
God has made me a dreamer, and like Joseph and Daniel, I long to dream and believe and release dreamers in our generations to live out the call of God in bringing Christ’s love, truth and freedom to this world. We need to listen to the voice of God, our Father and our Maker…and allow Him to give us wings to soar above the circumstances and unbelief that we face in our world today.
The inspiration to write this song came when my songwriting tutor, Carolyn Arends (singer/songwriter), sat down beside me, and encouraged me to remember a time or an event that could tell a story.. immediately, my eyes filled with tears as I remembered the times I would walked across the River Thames in London, hearing God speak to my heart and reminding me of His beautiful promises over my life. It is in times like this when I know, without a shadow of doubt, that God is faithful and His promises are always true. Isaiah 5:8-11 is the foundation of the chorus:
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (NIV)
This is God’s song, and I am so thankful to Him for the gift of faith and the ability to dream. May this song be a blessing to many, for His kingdom and glory!
