One of the most famous stories in contemporary America is that of the accessibility that "John-John", President Kennedy’s 3 year old son had with his father, the President. No matter what important meeting was going on, if John John wanted to see his Dad, he could go into the Oval Office and sit in his father’s lap.
That and the scene from "Oliver" when the orphan had been adopted and woke up in his very own room, clean and safe and loved; and sang "Who will buy this wonderful morning?" originally inspired this song.
I was playing/praying at the piano one day and as corny as it may sound, I just needed a hug from my Father God- and He gave me one!! This song was born out of that inspiration.
Lyrics:
“Accepted”2007 David Baroni/ KingdomSongs Inc. My Father is the Awesome GodEach morning I’m amazedTo wake up in the safety and the splendor of your graceThere’s nothing I could do to earn this favor I receiveThis orphan has become a son of royalty! I am accepted in the BelovedI have been chosen by the KingHere in the shelterOf the AlmightyI am resting in the Love that covers me When the living isn’t easy andThe pressure starts to riseOld memories are luring me to a prison made of liesBut just before they lock the door, and faith dissolves to fearYou call my name and let me know You’re hereAnd it’s clear I am accepted in the BelovedI have been chosen by the KingHere in the shelterOf the AlmightyI am resting in the Love that covers meRejoicing as You’re singing over me
