Be Still

by David Baroni on Sun, 06/01/2008 - 3:20pm
This song is a brand new song called "Be Still". It was born in a worship time in Hawaii and finished in Kuwait and Franklin. Sometimes the Lord has to "make us" lie down in green pastures! This song is only available as a free download and is not on a CD project. I am making this simple demo available to you, trusting that the song will be meaningful.

Hear My Cry (O Most High)

by David Baroni on Mon, 01/07/2008 - 11:34am
I was in a worship conference in Kiev, Ukraine about to teach a Songwriting for Worship class. As I sat at the piano with my back to the gathering participants, I began to play sponateously. These beautiful, hungry-for-God people started singing and worshipping in a powerful heart-cry to the Lord. That poignant moment was the inspiration for the song that I and team member Meg Everhart wrote in Ukraine.

Accepted

by David Baroni on Mon, 01/07/2008 - 11:12am

One of the most famous stories in contemporary America is that of the accessibility that "John-John", President Kennedy’s 3 year old son had with his father, the President. No matter what important meeting was going on, if John John wanted to see his Dad, he could go into the Oval Office and sit in his father’s lap.

That and the scene from "Oliver" when the orphan had been adopted and woke up in his very own room, clean and safe and loved; and sang "Who will buy this wonderful morning?" originally inspired this song.

The Gift Of Imagination

by David Baroni on Sun, 03/16/2008 - 4:31pm
Imagination is one of the most precious and powerful gifts we have received from our Creator. It is, tragically, also one of the most neglected. We have an abundance of it in childhood- I have played for hours as a Sarge to my plastic platoon of G.I. Joe Soldiers. Little girls invite all sorts of imaginary guests to their tea parties. Many of us guys have thrown the winning touchdown pass in a stadium filled with thousands of admirers, when in reality we were all by ourselves throwing a rolled-up sock into a trash can in our bedroom!

Accepting Being Accepted

by David Baroni on Mon, 01/07/2008 - 11:37am

I meet every Wed. nite with a group of men that I have become very close to over the past few months. We get real with ourselves and each other and it has become so important to me to have this “safe place”.

One of the things we heard last week was a reading in which this statement was made: “Accept that you are accepted.” I love that! God tells us that in Christ we are accepted in the beloved… we couldn’t do enough to earn it, can’t do enough to maintain our status in God, it’s by grace through faith in Christ!
