About Me
I’m a songwriter, and I lead worship at a church in University Place, WA. I went to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Since I graduated, I’ve been slowly gravitating to writing predominately congregational worship songs. I love Paul Baloche’s writing because his songs are scripturally grounded yet personal. Check out my website at www.cameronpruitt.com for free mp3s and music chart downloads.
I would really appreciate anyone’s feedback on my songs, whether it’s encouragement or constructive criticism. I just think this site has a great capability for us to share and connect. Is anyone else from Western Washington? I’d love to find people to co-write with.
My Songs
I got the inspiration for this song from a daily bread that had these lines from a poem by Annie Johnson Flint called “He Giveth More Grace”:
His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.
The inspiration for this song came from reading so many of the Psalms and reflecting on their soulful heart cries, like Psalm 130:
Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
and Psalm 142:
I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
Listen to my cry,for I am in desperate need;
rescue me from those who pursue me,
for they are too strong for me.
Set me free from my prison,
I began writing this song after listening to Paul Baloche at Creation West. The sun was setting, and I was looking around at God’s creation. I thought that it was amazing that the God who designed that beautiful setting created me.

The inspiration for this song came from the triumphal entry. The crowd is praising Jesus, and the Pharisees rebuke Him for it. In Luke 19:40 Jesus says, "I tell you…if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
There is something in our very nature that needs to praise Jesus, to praise God, and He simply must be praised.
